By:Alex Deseau

We, as a society, live day to day searching for some profound moment which defines our existence. Too often, our individual adventures are interrupted by the jostling and ever- changing world, raising the question: are we living the life worth living? We all must undertake a journey to discover our passions, what defines us. As we embark upon the journey of life, we must remain cognizant of the trials we will face; however, we mustn’t fear the unknown, for the trials and misconceptions in life frequently make us stronger. The ultimate goal in life may become obscure at times, but remain strong, for the journey is equally important, and molds our character to unknown bounds. Finally, we must indulge in the pleasures of life, gleaning everything possible from them; for only then, at the end of our journey, can we say we have lived the life worth living.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming,
And I’ll not have you judging me anymore
Nothing can be done, you know, until I get on the ground.
I can't tell you what it really is,
I can only tell you what it feels like.
I can't breathe but I still fight all I can fight;
I will yet stand firm.

I know you don't know
What life is really worth
Easy come, easy go,
that's just how you live
Oh, take, take, take it all
but you never give
I know it's wrong but it's the way it goes

By day the banished sun circles the earth
like a grieving mother with a lamp.
The ashes of the late world
Carried on the black and temporal winds
to and fro in the void;
For the earth, too, had on her black veil

The shackles, therefore,
Which shall not be knocked off…
Will remain on us long,
Will be made heavier and heavier.
Maybe you’re the reason why
All the doors are closed.

The fiend in his own shape is less hideous
Than when he rages in the breast of man
But do you know there’s still a chance for you?
So, Tell me what you want to hear
Sick of all the insincere
I'm gonna give all my secrets away.
I am honest.
But I’ll plead no more!
I see now that your spirit
twists around the single error of my life-
the present corruptions will be protected,
and new ones encouraged;
Reason and free inquiry are
The only effectual agents against error.

I'm through with doubt
There's nothing left for me to figure out
But I'm still waiting.
The glory that blushed and bloomed
Is but a dim remembered story
Of the old time entombed

Envy is ignorance-
imitation is suicide
So Don't be scared to be free
to let go, show it off,
Feel like letting go.

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb.
I depart as air- I shake my white locks at the runaway sun;
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy lags
I too am not a bit tamed- I too am untranslatable;
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world. external image rising-sun-goryu-dake-peak.jpg
