Like Freedom in Spring
By Anna Groeling

A lot of people live in the past, unable to let go what has already been done. By doing this, it weighs us down. How are we supposed to see the future clearly if we are constantly focused on the past? How then, are you able to live life to the fullest? We all make mistakes, everyone does. We shouldn't dwell on them though. Living life isn't about you did in the past, or what you said. That isn't what life is about. Life should be full of joy. It's important that even when things are hard you keep an optimistic mindset, and that you take every opportunity you get. That said, one then asks the question: What is the meaning of life? Everyone asks this at one point of time or another in their life. Some of us may never find the answer. As for me, however, I personally find the meaning of life in my Christian faith. My faith is something that I can always hold on to, no matter what. It can't be taken from me, only if I allow it to be. I try to go through life with an optimistic outlook on life, no matter what. I'll stand up for what I believe in.

I'll sit on the front porch all night.
I have spoke nothin',
Waist-deep in thought.
Looking down on the world as it warms over everything.
You may say I'm a dreamer.
Here comes the sun,
It's been a long cold lonely winter.
I feel that ice slowly meltin.

Something fires the imagination.
After that, there was a long pause.
A breathless pause.
I’ve got a great idea!
I want a new beginning,
One without an end.

So starting today,
I'm breaking out of this cage.

I'll find repose in new ways.
Imma face my demons.
Imma hold my ground.
Taste the sky and feel alive again.
I'm alive, more alive than I've ever been.
Ignite the light and let it shine.
Like the 4th of July.

I once was lost,
Wondering at the true aim of life.
Now I am found.
I know it now.

Success is equated with excess.
This ain't my American dream!
I feel it inside,
Calling out to me.
I want to live and die for bigger things.

I was fighting my way.
I'm tired of fighting for just me.
I'm not afraid to take a stand.
I'mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly.

It was a beautiful let down
The day I knew,
That all the riches this world had to offer me,
Would never do.

So I'll hold tight to what I know.
An unfaltering trust.
You're here and I'm never alone,
My Love and my Faith.

Everything will be made new again,

Like freedom in spring.
Such a deep, deep reassurance
You've placed in my life.

Are you
Lost in the sullen waters,
Going down hill?

Drifting through the wind?
Waist deep in
Secret sin...sad mysteries?
It isn't fair, it isn't right?

I'll tell you this.
Nobody can go back,
Start a new beginning.
But anyone can start today,
And make a new ending.
